The Committee

Polo De Salud

On August 9, 2024, the Ministry of Health and Sports of the Province of Mendoza, through the Directorate of Research, Science and Technology (DICyT), accredited our Health Research Ethics Committee.

The Health Research Ethics Committee is authorized to evaluate research projects that are developed at the “Vistalba Health Pole”, and through general or specific subrogation agreements, it can carry out the evaluation, monitoring and follow-up of research projects that are developed in other effectors in Mendoza or the country.

Comité de Ética de Investigación en Salud (CEIS)

A CEIS is a multidisciplinary institutional setting that evaluates health research protocols, with the primary objective of protecting the rights of patients.

Its functions are carried out in accordance with strict provincial, national and international regulatory guidelines. Analyzes proposals for research and development of new techniques related to people's health from an ethical, legal and methodological perspective. This activity is carried out on projects financed by the pharmaceutical industry, as well as those generated by local scientists.

Each CEIS prepares its own operating regulations, and through the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which must be approved by local and national regulatory authorities, controls that the scientific evidence and information generated in human health research is verifiable, ensuring the safety of participants, transparency in research and future access to knowledge by the community.

“Ethics is not an obstacle to research, but rather its foundation.”
~ Dr. Francis Collins
